We woke up super early to catch the morning light (and avoid crowds!) at Rock Springs and dang was it worth it!! This was my first time shooting here + it was so enjoyable to explore the park with Amanda + Tyler and the springs were a perfect backdrop!

Planning your photo session at Rock Springs/Kelly Park

My number one recommendation is to get there early! Be there when the gates open at 8am, and if it's a weekend, be prepared to get in line before it opens. Weekends in the summer are nearly impossible, but weekdays are still manageable! A weekday in the winter is the perfect time - almost guarantees a nearly empty park!

You can double-check the park hours and get more info here.

Near the rock is the perfect spot to get in the water, it's shallow enough to stand and a beautiful background! Tubers do float by the rock - but that's what photoshop is for right?

Bring a change of clothes and a towel! Even if you aren't 100% planning on getting in the water, when it's warm out and you're a little sweaty after running around and having fun during your photos, you're going to be tempted to jump in! There are bathrooms in the park to change out of your wet clothes, and maybe into a swimsuit to lay out and tan in the sun after your shoot!

Rock Springs is one of my favorite spots to shoot, send me a message and we'll start planning your session there!
